Country Crafts Weekend
Discover a variety of heritage craft skills being demonstrated as you explore our museum grounds during our Country Crafts weekends. Our skilled crafts volunteers love to be asked questions and will encourage you to have a go where appropriate. Who will you meet as you explore? You may find our blacksmith hard at work in the forge, our wood turner demonstrating lathe skills, our bodger creating items on a pole lathe, our broomsquire busy at work in the woodland zone. Have you ever wondered how corn dollies are made or what tools our spinners, weavers and wheelwrights use? Come along to learn all about these traditional crafts on show within our heritage buildings. (The crafts people you meet on the day of your visit will vary according to volunteer availability).
