This Easter, Railway Wednesdays are back! Ride on the Old Kiln Light Railway on Wednesdays in school holidays, for free, unlimited train rides are included in your Museum entrance ticket. Trains run from Mills Wood Station (within the Museum) to Reeds Road and back. A timetable is available in the Museum main entrance on the day of your visit.

Activity Thursday. This ever-popular day out, loved by families, sees activities for children and families to explore and find around the Museum, launch rockets on the village green, or go back in time in our Victorian school, our school master in cap and gown will ring the bell to call in the class, and children shall be seen and not heard!

Activities will vary dependant on the time of year and sometimes on the weather, a schedule of activities will be available in the Museum main entrance on the day of your visit. All activities are presented by Museum volunteers and are free to take part as part of your Museum admission ticket or Annual Pass. From time to time, we are joined on Activity Thursday by professional crafts people who charge a small amount to cover materials for their activities.

Easter Sunday & Easter Monday – Have a go at our Easter Egg trail, suitable for all ages! Buy your trail in the shop (£1.00) and explore the Museum whilst hunting for eggs. When you have completed the trail our lovely volunteers in the shop will have chocolate and treats for you!

We are a great day out for families to relax, wander and explore, bring a picnic and relax in our picnic area (under cover) or pick a spot amongst the trees. Our café also serves a wide range of hot and cold food and drink, our famous sausage rolls and of course cakes and sweet treats!
