Working Object Weekend

We are passionate about our collections, with a vast array of thousands of objects to explore. Many of our objects are mechanical and can be demonstrated, from stationary engines and tractors through to the apple coring machine, buses, fire engines, horse drawn vehicles, a steam roller a working woodyard and more!

We aim to demonstrate a selection of working objects each working objects weekend so visitors can experience the collection and how we did things in the past through sight sound and sometimes smell.

Depending on what toys we choose to get out in the day, there is often the opportunity for visitors to get hands on!
A schedule of demonstrations will be available at the Museum entrance on the day of your visit, all demonstrations are subject to availability, and of course the idiosyncrasies of old machinery!
