There are all sorts of stories and legends surrounding donkeys, which have been used as working animals for at least 5,000 years. The day will feature talks, demonstrations and displays. The organisers say that the aim of the event is for everyone to have a relaxing time...and that includes the donkeys!
Free admission to the museum across these dates. Come and explore the museum as part of the annual Heritage Open Days events brought to you by The Farnham Society, supported by Farnham Town Council.
This year we are introducing an exciting new event to appeal to all the family. Activities will vary each month, but may include mini talks and tours to learn more about the museum and the stories it tells. There will be interesting demonstrations and usually you may be able to have a go! Every month there will be a “Big Draw” art activity and other “hands on” things the family can enjoy doing together too. Sometimes there might just be an exciting extra feature. Watch the website for details of these special, bonus events.
With the patience to preserve the past, its no wonder classic vehicles have such enduring popularity. Last year’s event, organised by the Surrey Classic Vehicle Club, attracted about 500 entries; not just sleek-bonneted cars, but many other wonderfully wheeled forms of transport representing manufacturers from around the world. From bikes to buses, cars to camper vans, the recognisable to the rather rare, the Classic Vehicle Gathering seems certain to delight everyone.
Free Entry for teachers and their families. Come and find out about heritage learning opportunities at this countryside museum.
