Explore and Discover

Set in 15 acres, our living museum has over 30 buildings and approximately 40,000 artefacts on display. There is a museum map available if you would like one, but we find the best way is to simply walk round and explore….

Dogs are welcome, but we ask that they stay on a lead in the museum. Picnic places and benches are available across the site, and we have a tree trail map for children to follow and explore. No smoking in the museum but there are designated smoking areas on site.

The Collections team and volunteers are a friendly bunch, so if you have a question while you are walking round, please ask. Come and see us. We hope you enjoy your day.
