Home Education at RLLM

We're so excited to launch our new Home Education Sessions here at the Rural Life Living Museum.

Thanks to funding from the Community Foundation for Surrey we've been able to hire Laura who has been part of the Home Education community herself for 18 years.

Sessions are aimed at children between 5 - 12 years old but we are not strict on ages. Each workshop will be different - but hands on learning, time travelling, and fun outside in our museum grounds is guaranteed!

Dates:

4th June - WW2 Evacuation- Step into 1940s Britain and experience a day on the WW2 home front through hands-on activities, roleplay, and real-life challenges.

18th June - Summer Solstice - Explore the longest day of the year through hands-on activities with sunlight, shadows, and nature, discovering how people once understood time without clocks.

2nd July - WW2 Dig for Victory - Step into the shoes of wartime families and discover how to grow, plan, and ration food in this hands-on “Dig for Victory” activity

16th July - WW2 Make do and Mend- Get creative as you reuse and repair materials to solve everyday problems, just like families did with “Make Do and Mend” during wartime.

30th July - Life Before Electricity - Step back in time to experience daily life without electricity, using hands-on tasks like pumping water, washing clothes, and making your own light

Timings: 10:00am - 12:00pm

Spaces are limited to 15 children per session. Sibiling discounts are avaliable, one adult per paying child goes free. Under 4s go free. These workshops are not included in our Annual Pass offer.
